Local First: Your reading data is primarily stored on your device. We believe your reading history should remain private.

iCloud Sync: If enabled, your data syncs securely through Apple's iCloud service. We don't have access to your iCloud data.

Bookdot is safe for readers of all ages. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. Parents can manage their children's reading data through Family Sharing.

Data Retention

We keep your data as long as you use Bookdot:

  • Active accounts: Data retained while you use the app
  • Inactive accounts: Reminded after 1 year of inactivity
  • Deleted accounts: Permanently removed within 30 days
  • Exported data: You control retention of exported files

International Users

Bookdot is available worldwide. If you're outside the United States:

  • Your data stays in your region via iCloud
